Synthetic resins such as PVP (polyvinyl pyrolidone polymer), acrylate copolymer, VA (vinyl acrylic) copolymer, and acrylamide polymer, have been found in almost all “natural” hairsprays. They form a plastic film to hold hairs in place. These synthetic resins are petroleum derived, so are not the best choice to enhance your hairs’ natural beauty. When inhaled, this can cause health problems. Synthetic resins are not readily bio-degradable, and do not meet our eco-friendly needs.

Suncoat has chosen sugar-biopolymer (polysaccharides) instead of petroleum derived synthetic resins. Polysaccharides are essentially complex carbohydrates and act similarly to synthetic resins in terms of hold, without harming us or the environment. They are derived from natural renewable resources, readily biodegradable, a superior choice for your hair and the environment.
